Information about the club
Bro Hof Castle Golf Club (Stadium Course & Castle Course)
Located just north of Stockholm, right next to the sparkling waters of Lake Mälaren, lies Bro Hof Slott Golf Club. This is a facility that fundamentally changed the perception of Swedish golf facility standards when it opened in the first decade of the 21st century. The facility is regularly ranked as Sweden's best and has hosted the European Tour on several occasions. Course architect Robert Trent Jones Jr. was given free rein and a generous budget to create a masterpiece, resulting in two courses of completely different, but deeply impressive, character.
The courses: The Stadium Course is the flagship – a monumental “stadium course” measuring over 7,300 metres from the back tee. The course is characterised by its enormous proportions, wide fairways, gigantic bunkers and, above all, the constant presence of water. Lake Mälaren comes into play on a number of holes, and the iconic 17th hole with its island green requires nerves of steel. The Castle Course offers a completely different experience; it is designed with a more Scottish touch, lower profile, undulations and strategically placed bunkers, as well as wasteland areas that require precision rather than pure length.
Facilities: The magnificent 17th century white castle serves as the clubhouse and offers an exclusive environment for changing and relaxing. There is a well-regarded restaurant with panoramic views of the course and Lake Mälaren. The training facilities are absolutely world-class and include:
- A huge range area with custom-made targets and free access to the highest quality range balls.
- Several large practice greens that accurately mimic the speed and undulations of the course.
- An exclusive golf studio equipped with the latest technology for swing analysis and custom fitting.
- A well-stocked pro shop with a hand-picked range of premium brands.
Attractions and surroundings: The biggest attraction is undoubtedly the castle itself and the spectacular castle park. For those who want to combine a golf trip with culture, the historic Skokloster Castle is a drive away, and Stockholm's wide range of culture and entertainment can be reached in under 40 minutes.
